The 2nd Annual Calavera LGBTQ Community Celebration is a blending of our LatinX cultural and LGBTQ community experience. We welcome all LGBTQ and ally members of our community for an evening filled with art, music, food, drinks and dancing! Over 200 community members are expected to attend the celebration to be held at Mi Centro LGBTQ Community Center in Boyle Heights.
This event is in honor of our cultural Day of the Dead remembrance of family and community members who have passed away. In keeping with cultural traditions, we remember the victims our LGBTQ community lost to gun violence including those who died in the Pulse Night Club Massacre on June 12, 2016 in Orlando, Florida and the Transgender members of our community who have died through criminal acts as a result of homophobia and transphobia.
