My name is Bryn and I work for a major digital documentary series with billions of video views and millions of followers that is casting a new episode about dads who are proud of their kids, no matter their sexual orientation or gender identity. We want to share a story of acceptance, and a message that love is love is love. Participants will get a chance to be part of a large float during LA Pride parade, and we’ll feature their experience in one of our upcoming short documentaries.

My name is Diego Martinez. I’m a digital content producer, journalist and writer originally from Venezuela but now based in San Francisco, CA.


I’m reaching out to the Latino Equality Alliance in hopes that the organization can support the crowdfunding campaign for NOS—a global queer Latinx media platform that aims to bridge the digital divide between the LGBTQ2+ Latinx communities in the United States, Central and South America.


You see, as an openly gay Latino man, I had become increasingly frustrated with the absence of a true platform that would showcase all sides of my community, where fun content that I could relate with would coexist with meaningful, thought-provoking articles and videos. And not on a convenient basis—more like every single day.


It has proved to be a very ambitious task, even if you add on the importance of keeping track of our communities in Central and Latin America, where the fight for equality and an accurate portrayal of gay, bi, trans and non-binary individuals is still ongoing.


The ever-evolving media landscape has transformed with the pace of today’s society and although I do recognize some efforts to demonstrate diversity, it’s still not over and done with. The more I surround myself with my people, with their feelings, concerns, and desires, the more I realize this vehicle is not only needed but represents a unique opportunity to create community—within the community.


Since we kicked off the campaign on Indiegogo last week, we have received a great deal of support from our community. Still, we would really appreciate if the Latino Equality Alliance could spread the word on NOS through its member list and social media channels.

My name is Gabriela Meza and I am part of the Latino Heritage Internship Program working with the National Park Service to translate park publications from English to Spanish. The purpose of my internship is to make the parks more accessible for Spanish-speaking communities. In order to do the best job I can, I would like to have a conversation with your community about the National Park Service publications. I personally developed two models for these meetings, one that is a 20-30 minute conversation and another that is a 45-60 minute workshop with an activity. This is also with the intention of creating new park material to meet the needs of Spanish-speaking folk and break the language barrier in National Parks.
