I hope this finds you well! I’m a reporter with NBC News working on an article about the push for neutral gender pronouns for Spanish speakers, specifically an equivalent to “they/them” pronouns. I’ve heard a bit about the pronoun “elle” being used for people who don’t feel represented by “él” or “ella”. I was wondering if you have time to chat with me sometime next week about the use of this and the push for gender-neutrality in Spanish overall.

I am an intern working for University of California Cooperative Extension to create a statewide educational campaign for healthcare professionals, medical providers, community organizations, and decision-makers in response to how COVID-19 affects the LGBTQ+ population. In order to inform our educational campaign, we have created a needs assessment survey. This survey is intended to gather data from our three target audiences: LGBTQ+ individuals, community serving organizations, and healthcare providers. The goal of the campaign is to increase healthcare equity for LGBTQ+ individuals.

We could really use your help in disseminating the survey to the healthcare providers in your organization! All answers are confidential and no prior expertise in working with LGBTQ+ individuals is needed in order to take the survey. Here is the shortened link to the Qualtrics survey: https://bit.ly/2QIbZTI

Please contact me if you have any questions!

I was hoping to reach out to speak to someone from Latino Equality Alliance about a call for research participants on your organization. I am the principal investigator of a study of lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, pansexual, and otherwise non-heterosexual (LGBQ+) individuals’ experiences in therapy. The aim of this study (“Development of the Sexual Minority Affirmative Practice Scale”) is to develop a measure that assesses LGBQ+/sexual minority therapy clients’ perceptions of the extent to which their clinicians provided LGBQ-affirming services. Ultimately, it is my hope that the results of this study will help facilitate improved training for future clinicians and thus improved mental health services for LGBQ+ individuals. This project was approved by the Arizona State University’s IRB, and is being supervised by Frank Dillon, Ph.D.

This study is anonymous, takes 15-20 minutes, and those who complete the study have the choice to enter a drawing for a $95 Amazon.com gift card as compensation for their time. To participate in this anonymous study, one must be a) an adult age 18+, b) identify as LGBQ+, and c) have participated in at least one therapy/counseling session (including group counseling) within the past 12 months.

Would it be possible for Latino Equality Alliance to help spread the word about this study or direct me to a more appropriate venue? The online survey can be found at: https://asu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cAtMOjhrs7q29al

I would be happy to provide any other information or documentation you may require.

Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions or require additional information,

Thank you!

Hello, I am a senior at a High School in the suburbs of Chicago and for my English class we had to research an immigrant community. My group and I decided to research the LGBTQ LatinX immigrants and we saw that your organization is all about helping the Latino LGBTQ community. We were wondering if we could maybe set up an interview to ask a few questions, this interview could be over email or over an online call. Thank you for your time and I hope all is well!

Hello,

My name is Josselyn Perez, I am the volunteer coordinator with InnerCity Struggle. We are currently in our last month for our Schools and Communities First campaign. We have several volunteer days, where we host the community to take action in trying to qualify Schools and Communities First! It’s very important for us because it will help us reclaim $12 billion dollars that haven’t been going to our communities. We are trying to eliminate a loophole that currently exists. By eliminating that loophole it will help benefit our public schools as well as community resources (e.g. community colleges, libraries, clinics, etc.).

The available dates are:

Thurs. February 27th (5pm-7pm)

Sat. February

Thur. March 5th (5 pm-7 pm),

Sat. March 7th (9 am-2 pm),

Thurs. March 12 (5 pm – 7 pm) and

Sat. March 14th (9 am-2 pm)

So, we are asking for other organizations if they are willing to come down and be part of the movement to reclaim those $12 billion. Let me know if you are able to commit to bringing members down! You may contact me at [email protected]

I am an undergraduate student in the BS Sociology program seeking to interview one or more Employees who are available for interview who work directly with clients for a senior thesis for University of La Verne.

The research topic: : Examining the heightened mental health risks associated with parental and peer rejection of LGBTQ compared to the heterosexual community. Heightened risks include symptoms such as higher rates of depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, isolation, fear of rejection from peers, drug use as a method of coping, internalized homophobia etc.

In addition no personal names or cases will be discussed this is a general interview for overall trends in clients cases etc. If anyone is willing to participate there is more information I can give as well as a consent form with measures I will take to keep confidentiality in anything we discuss approved by my schools IRB board.

Thank you in advance,
